College Gameday kicks off the 2024 season with Florida State vs. Georgia Tech in Dublin – Tomahawk Nation

College Gameday will kick off the 2024 season in Dublin, Ireland to watch Florida State take on Georgia Tech in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic. The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024 and will be held at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

This will be the first time College Gameday has covered a game outside the United States. College Gameday was set to cover the 2020 Aer Lingus College Football Classic between Notre Dame and Navy but that game was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The announcement comes on the heels of several attempts by ESPN to mitigate its role in publicly pushing for Florida State’s exclusion from the College Football Playoff. Earlier this week, Kirk Herbstreit went on the Pat McAfee Show in an attempt to downplay the role ESPN played in shaping the narrative that ESPN had designed to make Florida State the first undefeated Power 5 champion outside of the playoffs.
