PlayStation Portal restocks quick links
Even though we’re in the month following the console’s release, we’ve seen very little in the way of official or proper PlayStation Portal restocks.
In the last day or so (December 7th) we have seen real restocking movement on both sides of the Atlantic, which is encouraging! However, of course, it’s also been just as fleeting as demand for the device – but that’s the hope we’re holding out for, and it means it’s worth checking the retailers below constantly for any lucky drops. Also, with the full release of the PlayStation Pulse Explore this week, hopefully Sony will see the value in making the portable console available as well
This really gives us terrible flashbacks to 2020 and 2021 during the massive PlayStation 5 stock shortages when the console first launched. But we’re still here to help, monitoring the PlayStation Portal restock status and regularly updating the PS Portal inventory tracker to give you a strong chance of securing one in time for the holidays.
Although we always advocate perseverance and patience, there has only been a flash or two of official stock. In the US, we’ve seen stock glimpses pop up and some people in the Portal community have reported success with stock trackers or trying their luck at their local Best Buy and Target stores. However, until something clearer emerges, we recommend sticking to the trusted retailers and links on this page. You never know, you might get lucky.

How much does a PlayStation Portal remote player cost?
The PlayStation Portal Remote Player costs $199.99 in the US and £199.99 in the UK. Differences in pricing will be found across different regions as stock becomes more widely available and is rolled out more widely.
Is PlayStation Portal worth it?
We think the PlayStation Portal is a fantastic remote play device that does what it was designed to do well. Whether it’s worth it for you will largely depend on your personal circumstances – if you share a TV with someone in your household, have a family that uses the TV a lot, or just want another convenient, easy and portable way to play your PS5 games then the Gateway is perfect .
When will PlayStation Portal stock return?
It feels like the PS5 stock shortage is back on, but right now, we don’t know exactly when PlayStation Portal will be restocked. One ray of hope we can cling to now is a message on the PlayStation Direct US page advising fans to come back in “early December for more details on stock availability.”
Aside from PlayStation Direct, there have been no such messages from retailers, but we check them all the time, so we’ll let you know when we have more information.
Is PlayStation Portal sold out?
As it stands at around 5am ET on December 8, yes, PlayStation Portal remains unavailable in both the US and UK. We’ve seen flashes of stock appear, but they’ve been fleeting since the device’s launch last week.
Will there be any PlayStation Portal restocks before the holidays?
Now that the biggest sales days of the year have passed, all eyes are turning to the holidays. The Portal will be a great Christmas gift this year too, so any restocks of the PlayStation Portal throughout December will be very well received and incredibly popular. With the US PlayStation Direct asking for verification again in early December, we’re holding out hope and hope.
