In the best games of the year, there were spy stories, superhero triumphs, cut-up clowns, dinosaurs in places they shouldn’t be, and writers who don’t do anything good. There were also terrifying monsters (plural), adorable aliens, sand assassins, and much more.

GamesHub’s Game of the Year picks are selected collectively by permanent staff and regular contributors. Each participant compiles a personal ranked list of their favorite games released in 2023, and titles are given a score according to their ranking, with 10 being the highest, and 1 being the lowest. The scores are tallied, and the games are ranked according to their collective score, with the staff Edit as necessary before locking in the final list.
Honorable mentions
Before we get started, let’s celebrate the honorable mentions – all the PlayStation games we loved in 2023, but the ones that weren’t as popular with us. Top five list. Firstly, a big shout out to Avatar: The Frontiers of Pandoraan excellent game adaptation that expands James Cameron’s universe symbol picture In delightful and wonderful ways. We have too Assassin’s Creed Miragewhich successfully revisited the classics Doctrine killer Formula, and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Libertya comprehensive spy adventure with great qualitative twists.
There is, too Resident Evil 4 Remake, which we loved for its terrifying survival gameplay, and finally, Street Fighter 6a community-oriented fighting game perfect for newcomers and returning fans of the franchise.

Marvel Spider-Man 2
Marvel Spider-Man 2 It is a breathtaking achievement. An elevated, cinematic narrative adventure with high stakes, an incredibly well-written narrative, and action that moves at a frenetic clip. There’s a lot going on in this game – from the appearance of Kraven to Black Cat, Venom, and more – and it’s all well balanced. In many ways, the game feels like the perfect distillation of a stylized comic book, with all-out battles, heightened drama, and plenty of crowd-pleasing moments.

Perhaps it’s the stunning art direction, which features Victorian costumes and creatively gruesome mechanical horror. This is perhaps the most innovative reworking of a story PinocchioAnd how the game uses it to do something interesting in examining themes of self-actualization. Or maybe it’s the tight, exciting combat, featuring innovative weapons and an entertaining array of prosthetics, whose abilities can completely change the way you approach things.

Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 It positively impressed me in 2023, after more than a decade of waiting for it. Honestly, Remedy Entertainment has outdone themselves with this sequel. It’s creepy, fascinating, and utterly obtuse, in a way that will have you salivating for answers, generating conspiracy theories, and delving deeper into its strange and twisty lore. Remedy is a company known for storytelling, and Alan Wake 2 It represents the best the studio has to offer.
It’s a multi-threaded beast. A literary horror adventure with sprawling, dangling plot threads that spark inspiring questions and curiosity, and a constant march forward as a complex web of terror spins. But while it weaves a tale that seems to dance out of reach with each bizarre chapter, as the interwoven stories of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake do, the skillful writing and strong plot mean that the answers ultimately come together in an engaging way.

Baldur’s Gate 3 It is an amazing role-playing experience that seems to change shape based on the individual players. He became almost all my friends Baldur’s Gate 3 It starts in the year 2023, and we’ve all played the game side by side, leading to a very confusing time when we frequently ended up in different areas, meeting different people, and experiencing different events. I’ll never forget when someone told me they had just fought dinosaurs, and I had no idea that was even possible.
