Whether as a starter or substitute, Trevor Giordano showed great talent on the field at Centenary University.

Giordano, a senior, played at Steinert and has been key to Hackettstown University’s past and present success.

Centenary, coached by former Trenton Catholic star Chris LaBelle, started slow but came together and posted two wins, much of it having to do with Giordano’s play.

The senior had 20 points twice this season against King’s College and Sarah Lawrence.

“Trevor has really come into his own this season on the floor,” LaBelle said. “You can tell the game is really starting to slow down for him and he’s hitting shots at a high rate.”

Giordano has been in double figures in six of the Cougars’ last seven games and is averaging 10.5 points per game with 13 steals and 18 assists.

Centenary is a very young team, featuring Ewing freshmen Kenneth Rankin and Nair Preston, and Giordano has shown great leadership in bringing in young Cougars.

“Although Trevor’s play on the field was outstanding, his leadership is what really makes him stand out,” LaBelle said. “Not only does he hold himself to very high standards, he expects the same from his teammates and I am very lucky to have him as captain. With such a young team, his leadership and skills on the field will be huge for us as we prepare for the second half of the season.

Rankin leads the team with 12.9 points per game, 5.5 rebounds and 23 assists.

Preston is averaging 9.8 points per game and has a team-high 17 steals.
