On December 2, 2023, pitchers from Denver, Dike, New Hartford, Jessup, Mount Vernon and West Fork joined the South Tama pitchers in a home tournament to start the season. More than 350 shooters competed in the tournament that allowed shooters to shoot Bullseye and 3D.
Three schools competed at the Bullseye Elementary level, with Mount Vernon taking first place followed by Jesup and South Tama. At the middle school level, Mount Vernon came in first again, followed by South Tama, Jesup, Dike-New Hartford and Denver. Rounding out the team registration was the high school level which saw Mount Vernon rise to the top once again with the remaining teams emerging as follows: Jesup, Dike-New Hartford, South Tama and Denver.

Saturday, December 9, 2023, the South Tama Archery Club traveled to Dike-New Hartford to compete. In the Bullseye competition, Connor Bradley placed first, Alexandro Placencia placed third, Hunter Stanton placed fifth, and Tucker Atcher placed ninth in the boys’ elementary, while Mila Wanathi placed fourth in the girls’ elementary. For middle school, Ava Boldt took second place, Shelby Ford took fifth place for girls, Tim Chandonia took first place for high school boys and Olivia Bradley took fourth place for high school girls.

In the 3D competition, Connor Bradley and Alexandro Plascencia took first and second place, respectively, for boys in the elementary school. Jayden Hills took seventh place for the middle school boys, while Ava Bolt took first place for the middle school girls, Shelby Ford took fourth place, Clarissa Dvorak took seventh place, and Isabel Gomez took ninth place. For the high school, Tim Chandonia took first place for the boys and the girls came in with Olivia Bradley in seventh place, Grace Gomez in ninth place, and Emma Kern in tenth place.
The South Tama Shooting Club is gearing up for an exciting new season as they kick off their activities. With a focus on promoting sportsmanship and marksmanship skills, the club provides a safe and supportive environment for enthusiasts to hone their abilities. As the season gets underway, members are eager to participate in a variety of shooting competitions and events.
