South Georgia Technical College ranked third for best associate degrees in Georgia

AMERICA – South Georgia Technical College has been selected as the third best college in Georgia for an associate degree according to the university’s headquarters. The rankings are based on cost of tuition, acceptance rate, retention rate, graduation rate, graduation stipend, number of programs offered, programs offered online, default rate, diplomas awarded, percentage of students receiving financial aid, reputation, and expert opinions. “Southern Georgia Technical College has a tremendous reputation for providing an outstanding two-year education to prepare students for the workforce,” said Southern Georgia Technical College President Dr. John Watford. “We are very pleased that our headquarters has ranked us as one of the best two-year colleges in Georgia for an associate degree. This provides external validation about the quality and excellence of the technical education we provide.”
The two colleges that ranked higher than South Georgia Technical College were Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville and Abraham Baldwin Technical College in Tifton. Gwinnett Tech has over 9,500 students while ABAC has over 3,900 students. South Georgia Tech costs $6,000 less than either of the top two colleges and has a graduation rate 24 percentage points higher than the top-ranked college and 30 percentage points higher than ABAC.
Other colleges listed in descending order include: Georgia Northwestern Technical College, West Georgia Technical College, Georgia Highlands College, Southern Crescent Technical College, Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Ogeechee Technical College and Georgia Military College. South Georgia Tech’s graduation rate was the highest among the top 10 two-year colleges.
South Georgia Technical College has been ranked the best community college in Georgia for four consecutive years by Niche.com and Intelligent.com. SGTC is one of only two technical colleges in Georgia that offers on-campus housing. It offers students the “full college experience” with outstanding academics, athletics and student activities among nationally ranked colleges. The college offers more than 200 associate degrees, diplomas, and technical credentials.
