LORETO — Central Cambria defeated Cambria Heights in a high school swim meet Monday night at St. Francis University.

Ethan Heisesack won the 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard freestyle to help the Central Cambria boys win 102-53. Caleb Bishkek won the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle for the Highlanders.

Central Cambria’s girls won 97-71, with Lindsey Hodge winning the 200 fly and 100 butterfly. Heights’ Lauren Stepanovich won the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

ARMAGH — The Heritage Conference released its 2023 Athletic Conference teams on Monday, and several Cambria Heights and Portage athletes were recognized.

In football, Cambria Heights’ Marshall Eckenrode, Trey Tribus, Tristan Weakland and Jackson Kline were honored, along with Portage’s Isaac Welinski and Buddy Laio.

Heights soccer players selected were Cameron Abrams and Reece Garrison for the boys and Mariah Windeker and Morgan Ross for the girls.

In volleyball, Portage’s choice was Brooke Bednarski, and Heights’ choice was Mackenzie Mulraney.

Cambria Heights’ Danielle Hauck and Portage’s Logan Gentile and Gabby Korti were boys cross country selections, while Heights’ Savannah Hoover and Portage’s Alex Chobani and Lily Haney were girls cross country selections.
